The Opportunity

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated technician to join our Operations team in Inwood. This is a full‑time, permanent role (40 hours/week) reporting to the Operations Manager.

As a Telecommunications Installation & Repair Technician, you’ll be the face of Brooke Telecom in homes and businesses across our service area. You’ll install, maintain, and repair fibre and copper services while delivering the friendly, community‑focused experience our members expect.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Install fibre and copper‑based internet, phone, and IPTV services in residential and commercial locations
  • Locate underground telecommunications facilities for planned work and emergency requests
  • Perform maintenance and repairs using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and occasionally construction equipment
  • Provide positive, professional interactions with members regarding equipment, services, and troubleshooting
  • Continuously build knowledge of Brooke Telecom’s products, services, and network
  • Follow all quality control standards, company policies, and safe work practices
  • Participate in occasional on‑call rotations for evenings or weekends

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with tools, wiring, or installation processes
  • Valid G driver’s licence (or restricted A) with a clean driver abstract
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Friendly, positive, and customer‑service oriented
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
  • Well‑organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Telecommunications, electronics, or electrical experience is an asset
